The two halves of the waffle iron (with the grid pattern) were created using a CNC mill. Mastercam was used to generate the code and validate the process.
The two halves were joined with a hinge. The holes for the hinge were manually milled and tapped for M-4 screws. The handles are made with 1/4" steel rods, that have been threaded on the end. A hole in the bottom of each half was manually drilled and tapped. A high temperature silicone tubing was placed at the handle ends for insulation and grip. The silicone is bound to the steel with an epoxy resin. |
